Origin energy commissions live smart meter web data

Today, hundreds of thousands of Origin customers will be able to view their electricity usage online. Real-time data will be made available to show customers when they use the most energy. Origin said it will help customers prevent "bill shock".

Origin says the service will be free of charge to their customers.

However, this comes more than two months after Jemena started offering a similar service.

The service is called Origin Smart.
