Govt blows $36m on Carbon Tax Compensation Advertising Blitz

Tue, 15 May 2012 10:20 am By admin

The federal government this week has initiated an advertising campaign that aims to inform families of the "Household Assistance Package". The campaign will cost taxpayers $36m over the next few months.

The ad doesn't mention anything about the carbon tax.

Although the ad gives the impression the government is throwing money at taxpayers, the ad will cost $237,000 per day. The ad will be run on television, radio and newspapers.

At a time where power bills are expected to go up from 10% to 15% (and made worse by smart meters), the public do not need another smoke screen.
